we couldn't not to document holden's first moments back in the sand as this might just be what he missed most about being in the cast and was one of the first places that we took him upon cast removal.  holden adjusted really well to the cast (as young ones tend to do adjust easily to pretty much anything), but i think the times he did notice he had a cast is when we would tell him that he couldn't touch sand or dirt, a place that most boys like to spend the entirety of their day.  He was so thrilled to be back at the beach and we were content to let him explore and play on his own (something that hasn't happened in 7 weeks!) without worrying about him falling onto a hard surface.

during the cast adventure, we struggled to find articles of clothing that holden owned that could fit around the cast.  fawn shoppe, a global boutique that carries unique children's clothing, came to our rescue and was kind enough to send holden several items in a bigger size so that he would have something to wear while in the cast and even sent a bathing suit to celebrate getting the cast off.  it was my first introduction to this unique boutique and it has quickly become my favorite destination to shop for holden's clothing, finding items i haven't seen anywhere else (do you know how long i have been searching for a cute rashgaurd like this?!).  if you haven't yet, head over to see what's in stock at fawn shoppe.  below are a few of our favorites currently in stock.
